Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me..."
- Matthew 19:14
ALL FAMILY SERVICES
Sweetwater Community Church currently offers "all family services," where children worship with their families during at least part of the service. We believe children learn best who Jesus is by participating in the service and observing their family and faith community's worship. Watching their parents and others participate in worship, see baptisms, receive communion as a family, and develop relationships with worshippers of all generations is significant for the soul formation of children and benefits the entire church. Children of all ages are encouraged to participate in the service through welcoming people, praying, or using their gifts to sing or play with our worship team. Children are invited to join our "Kids Church” partway through the service. Kids' sign-up is located outside by the welcome tent.
EQUIPPING FAMILIES
God created parents as the primary people responsible for the soul care and formation of their children. Sweetwater Church knows that parenting in an ever-increasing technological society amid ‘experts” who give you multiple “how-tos” of the right way to raise your children can be overwhelming and at times anxiety-ridden. It is our desire to strengthen your family by equipping YOU as the parent. YOU have been given your child(ren) by the One who knew you alone could best meet their needs and help them develop into who God created them to be. We want to make you the expert in conjunction with what Jesus is telling you to do and be. Throughout the year, whether your child is two or fifty, we will support you in your role as mom, dad, grandparent, or any other ‘title’ you carry while impacting a child. Stay tuned for upcoming opportunities to strengthen your parenting skills as well as your families of all ages.
SOUL FORMATION
Sweetwater uses child development principles to encourage children to grow in the way Jesus created them. Soul formation for children integrates a hands-on, experiential approach. It includes children being a vibrant part of the church as a whole, where children are active participants in the body of Christ, learning from a young age that they are ‘fearfully and wonderfully made’ and ‘were created to do good works’ for the sake of the Kingdom. Children will learn who Jesus is as they encounter Him in their interactions with others in the church. The primary goal of the Sweetwater Church children’s ministry is for children to develop a relationship with Jesus as their Savior. One that gives them foundational Biblical truths and teaches them to navigate the Word and “rightly know” what Jesus is saying to them! All of this in THEIR church, where they quickly learn people in the church genuinely care, know, and invest in them.
